City of God: Song #2.10

Here is a painting of St. Augustine of Hippo whose seminal works "City of God" and "Confessions" helped shape Christianity. My favorite line from the "Confessions" is " God, make me chaste, but not yet." His massive contribution integrated Aristotle, reason into Chrisitanity and led the way for a number of giants of modern thought, in particular St. Thomas Aquinas (see: head of a pin)
